Stems and branches - The four pillars of destiny

The four pillars of destiny derive from the philosophy of stems and branches. The four pillars are eight energies, expressed in Zang and Fu, related to a year, month, day and hour of the date of birth. During years after the start of the Chinese calendar (2637 B.C), every year, month, day and hour was described with two qualities, we now know as the heavenly stem and earthly branch of that time period.
In this way we find eight qualities for four periods.
These energies of the date of birth are the blueprint of one's individual energetic pattern and influence one's character and the choices to make on physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
The 10 heavenly stems and 12 earthly branches are well known for their use in the Chinese calendar. It is less known that the stems and branches are used as a technique in acupuncture to treat diseases as well as someone's individual constitution.
Beside this, and this is what we are going to study during this seminar, it is also possible to use the information of the stems and branches for diagnosis and to understand someone's character and the choices someone makes in life.
