Leticia Pérez Calderón Centro de Estudios de Medicina Homeopática Culiacán, Sinaloa MÉXICOThe homeopathic medicine being a medicine of the experience, just as Hahnemann understood it, is a phenomenological medicine (not empiricism). Understanding the disease as an expression of the unbalance of the life force, that is manifested through signs and symptoms, implants a radical change to what conceives the alopathic medicine. This vision, involves an idea of man. A man who has as a fundamental property being expressive, this means, its existence is given under the way of communication, the giving in, the manifesting: is in the expressive phenomenon, in what is shown up, where is situated the key to understand the totality of the human being. That’s why, the disease is manifested, is expressed through signs and symptoms, with what we find that the symptomatic totality is the disease: there is not a nuclear essence hidden in one side, and an accidental or contingent manifestation in the other: the man is a unity of its internal and external dimension. The man is what he expresses. The famous censure that Hufeland did to Hahnemann (note parr. 8 Organon), that even in absence of symptoms the disease continues, can just be sustained under a mechanicist and essencialist conception of the human being an disease, that does not recognize the real nature of man. The homeopathic medicine by having a phenomenological methodology is sustained as a real “medicine of the experience” being completely current and operating. How must we understand the pathology in the clinical practice? The pathology is a dynamic process that lasts through the time; it means that the boarding of a patient involves the recognition of an individual that suffers not in the sense of chronological time, but in a psychological-vital, product of the personal experience, of the impact that suffers the patient with the events of its life. So, the remotest in time could be the nearest in the experience and the key of the suffering: today (here and now) is a fundamental human structure for the understanding of the patient, that is more related to the qualitative part of the time than to the quantitative. It’s required to know and understand the biopathography of the patient to know how the pathological transformation interweaves in chronological order, that takes sense in the psycho-physical particular experience of the patient. The problem of the clinic is situated on understanding integrally the patient in function to its individual characteristics that lead to the recognition of its current suffering, the now of the patient that lets the beginning of a curative process in the sense of Hering’s law. The expression of the present suffering of the sick manifested through the symptoms with a miasmatic character can’t be made as a mechanical technique, quantifying symptoms, and must respect the quality of the suffering, which is only possible through the conception of the sick human person. The medical labor is to understand the suffering of the sick person, because just through that understanding is possible to make the of what is appropriate to treat in the patient. This work is accompanied by clinical cases that exemplify the theorical exposition.
